YourFirstDraft.ai is built for two kinds of writers:
- Absolute beginners: Maybe you’ve never written a novel before, or you want to try a new genre without spending months reading up on tropes. YourFirstDraft.ai makes it possible. Just pick your blueprint, read a sample, and fill out the story dossier. The AI follows clear genre guardrails, so you end up with a draft that actually fits what readers expect. No experience required.
- Experienced AI authors: Maybe you’ve played with tools like n8n or Rexy 2 and either you can’t afford to take the time to really learn how to set it all up, or you’ve already done that work and just don’t want to anymore. YourFirstDraft.ai is for those who want to skip the setup, avoid the tech headaches, and let the AI handle the heavy lifting from dossier to draft, no custom prompts, no tinkering, no babysitting required.
How does YourFirstDraft work?
- Pick a blueprint for your genre or subgenre. (The blueprint ensures your draft follows the right conventions, so even if you’ve never written science fiction or romance, your draft acts like science fiction or romance.)
- Fill in the story dossier: premise, characters, outline, settings, must-have plot points, and any style preferences.
- Hit start, walk away, do the dishes, go for a walk, or get on with whatever else needs your attention.
- Come back to a full draft, ready for revision.

- People who love tinkering with every setting, want to control the prompting or want to use their own API key.
- Anyone who’s looking for a hyper-custom, “build it yourself” workflow. (We love those, but this is built for simplicity.)
FAQ
Can I bring my own OpenAI, Claude, or Mistral key?
No, YourFirstDraft uses the FFA’s managed access only and there are no plans to allow anyone custom access.
Can I change the AI model or edit the prompts?
No. The prompting is controlled by the blueprint and the AI model is limited to what has been tested with that blueprint. Some may have multiple AI options available, some may have one. If you want to control the prompt, you need to build your own sequence or automation.
Do I need any tech skills or coding?
Not at all. If you can fill in a story dossier, you’re set. (and we’ll have a detailed class available soon to help you with this)
Will it be affordable?
Depends on what you mean by affordable. Will it be the fraction of the cost of a ghostwriter? Absolutely. Will it be dirt cheap? Nope.
How do I get access?
YourFirstDraft is currently in alpha and available only to Future Fiction Academy Mastermind and Accelerator students. Limited public rollout will start in late 2025 with a required course purchase. Join the waitlist for early invites.
