Our Team

Elizabeth Ann West - CEO, Instructor

Elizabeth is a Jane-of-all-trades, mistress to none! A leader in technological education for authors on digital publishing since 2011, she has helped hundreds of authors publish profitably in their preferred genre. Starting her writing career as an SEO writer in 2007, transitioning to a book marketer with The-Cheap back in 2012, and finally starting her own author education school in 2018, she now speaks at national author conferences such as 20Booksto50K Vegas and Romance Writers of America on topics about the publishing business, derivative fiction, and writing with AI. Working closely with Sudowrite in 2023 as their Community and Education Lead, she now consults for prompt engineering and loves staying up on the latest innovations. An alumni of Christopher Newport University with a B. A. in Leadership Studies, she has authored over 25 novels and hit the top 100 on the Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, and Google Play stores.

Stephanie Pajonas - COO, Instructor

Stephanie is an author of both science fiction romance and cozy mysteries. As a seasoned author with over 30 books published, she understands the challenges of writing and also the power of AI tools to overcome those challenges. Her own experience using AI to break through writer’s block and become a more efficient writer inspired her to share that knowledge with others. She’s spent months learning about the latest AI technologies and techniques, and she’s eager to help other authors succeed with them. Steph has over 20 years of experience coding and designing websites, including 7 years working for HBO.com. She uses her expertise to keep the Future Fiction Academy up and running for all students. She is learning four languages and loves walking her dog, Lulu.

Leeland Artra - Research Fellow, Instructor

Leeland is an old-school D&D Game Master since 1980, and a bestselling science-fiction and fantasy author since 2011. In 2022, Leeland started using his professional AI & ML knowledge to do fiction writing AI prompt engineering against LLMs to help inspire his crafting of his uniquely detailed speculative fiction novels, fantasy worlds, and RPG supplement materials. Leeland has been teaching computer technologies since the 1980s and has numerous awards, accolades, and incredible true life stranger than fiction stories.

Stacey Anderson - Marketing Lead, Instructor

Stacey is an AI enthusiast, writing under multiple pen names since 2016. She draws on her MBA and experience during her military service to blend business with creative storytelling. Her works span from hard science fiction to dark romance, showcasing a wide range of interest. Beyond writing, Stacey is passionate about personal organization, utilizing Notion to meticulously organize her writing projects. For fun, she enjoys escape room challenges, putting her marriage and sanity to the test, so she can add to her collection of themed Winner photos.

Michelle Hinojosa - Instructor

Michelle embodies a fusion of artistic and technical expertise, drawing from her diverse experiences as a Forensic Photolab Technician, digital arts educator, and Talent Manager in TV, film, and theater. Her multifaceted career is marked by a passion for storytelling, whether through writing, or engaging in gaming and roleplaying. An advocate for the intersection of technology and creativity, Michelle excels in teaching digital art, particularly in utilizing AI tools like Midjourney, Leonardo, and Photoshop, and introducing authors to AI-enhanced writing techniques. With an academic background spanning a B.S. in Criminal Justice, an A.A. in Game Audio Production, and a certification in Commercial Music Production, Michelle’s approach to her work and hobbies is enriched by a broad spectrum of knowledge, making her a distinctive voice in both the literary and digital art communities.

Ryan Rivers - Educational Consultant, Instructor

Ryan is an educator and administrator with over two decades in higher education. He has developed and taught courses on grant and proposal writing, content analysis, and AI and automation. He’s published original research in leading writing studies journals and been funded by the National Science Foundation. As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, he has worked with companies across sectors to optimize talent. He has been publishing fiction since 2020, including laugh-out-loud cozy mysteries and hot and spicy romances. Ryan makes his home in North Texas with his son and Brussels griffon pup.
